Description

Full description available on our website.

Presented is an interesting piece of ephemeron hailing from a late-19th century Yale scrapbook. The front of 8-1/2 x 12-1/2 album-page displays a Table of Intercollegiate Baseball Averages supplement dated to October 8, 1881, noted as part of the Yale Record book. Despite frontal toning and slight peripheral edge wear, the cover remains attractive and opens to reveal and array of statistics and information for various Ivy League players and schools. The obverse side of the album-page features two additional period items, including a Psi Upsilon “Annual Initiation” invitation and a noteworthy 1883 Yale Athletic Association: Winter Meeting 4x5 program noting the incomparable Walter Camp as the referee of several scheduled wrestling matches. Though all three items are firmly affixed to the album-page, this impressive (120+) year-old specimen will delight any vintage NCAA collector.
